Mary Elizabeth Mitchell

Mary Elizabeth has worked in higher education for over 14 years as an instructor, presenter, faculty educator, and learning experience designer. Their focus has been on using technology to support individualized learning and implement competency-based education. Mary Elizabeth believes that learning is a right not only for those who fit into our current model of post-secondary education, but for every person regardless of circumstances, ability, or background. In alignment with that belief, Mary Elizabeth is a strong advocate for access to education that meets a learner where they are and provides opportunities for exploration, growth, and authentic experience. In addition to higher education, Mary Elizabeth’s career has spanned a variety of fields including business operations, social services, and program management. When they are not working on ways to help others learn, Mary Elizabeth can be found looking through a telescope, wandering through the mountains and deserts of the west, or reading a good book.
