If transitioning your programs to competency-based education (CBE) is a top goal, then identifying the best approach for doing so at your institution can be challenging. How do you know what’s right for your programs, faculty, and students?

We recently partnered with a research-intensive university to guide their nursing program through a CBE transformation, which you can read in our case study here. We first worked to identify how their nursing programs aligned with the new American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN)  Essentials, which requires all nursing programs to adopt a CBE model. Labs then led administration and faculty through a series of six workshops designed to address the course-specific needs of a CBE model.
